Breaking Down Our April Numbers
We’re off to an incredible kickoff to season two of the ILG cup, and we did not expect such an explosive turnout for offline gaming in India. We are as excited as you to see such interest in the Indian Esports scene, and are going to look back at April and break down some numbers for you.
April has been a month of focus on our major games with a total of 227 games played over 13 cities across the country. It has been the month of CS:GO with 123 matches being played, with DotA 2 coming in next with 73 matches played and, FIFA18 with 31 matches played.
Big ups to the 1,133 gamers registering in 15 different cafes to make this possible. Mumbai lead the charge, with 220 gathering at cafes all over the city, making Mumbai the city with the most number of registrations for the month of April. LXG Bangalore comes out on top as the cafe with the highest number of gamers and teams registering with a 124 gamers forming 22 teams.
With total winnings of 8,02,500 rupees going to the winners, we watched 231 teams brawl it out for glory. Congratulations, to our stand out winners in DotA 2, with LXG Esports sweeping the DotA 2 scene and taking home a huge win with a Rs. 1,00,000 to reward their efforts, and JMD Gaming dominating the CS:GO brackets and walking back with 60,000.
